Gill Ranch Storage Field is an underground storage site designed to hold 20 billion cubic feet (Bcf); capacity is split between the field’s owners: 75% Gill Ranch Storage, LLC and 25% Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

Gill Ranch Storage is in service and fully operational.
Environment & Safety
Gill Ranch Storage was built to meet the highest safety and environmental protection standards. The site uses depleted natural gas reservoirs, which are safe and do not affect adjacent land uses. Unlike other fuel sources, natural gas does not contaminate soil or water.
Local economic benefits
Gill Ranch Storage estimates its annual operating budget for local payroll and services is about $3 million. Madera and Fresno counties will benefit from property taxes generated by the facility. Gill Ranch Storage is also committed to supporting local communities through volunteerism and philanthropic contributions.
